  • REI In Your Car 148: The Problem with Overthinking

You don’t have to listen to many of these In Your Car episodes before you hear me make my famous quote: “Don’t ask what if? Ask what’s next!”

The reason I say it so often is because I see the problem so often. What problem? The problem of overthinking. Overanalyzing, Overcomplicating. The “what if” questions are rampant. In this episode, I address this issue.

I see it happening with my coaching clients. They get going in their business, then they’re suddenly paralyzed with fear. Fear that they might make a mistake, or mess up a deal, or whatever…

Here’s another great quote. This is from Tom Krol. “Take massive imperfect action.”

What he means is this—allow yourself to make mistakes. Allow yourself to be imperfect. How else will you learn?

Also in this episode, I explain the new plan I’ve laid out for our coaching program in 2017. It’s going to be greatly simplified. I think you’re going to like it.

Listen and Enjoy:

What’s inside:

  • The danger of “what if” questions
  • The root cause of overthinking
  • The importance of focus
  • Giving yourself permission to make mistakes
